G key causing Buzz in Yahoo Chats
every time i hit the G key in the trillian web client it sends
the 'buzz' command to the person i'm chatting with.
I don't know that it actually buzzes them or not, but it's rather
annoying on my end.
Using Chrome as my browser.

Hitting Ctrl+G will cause that buzz notification. Is it at all possible that your Ctrl button is stuck?

Nope, every other letter works normally, c isn't cutting, v isn't pasting.

yup, same here. Every other key works fine (no accidental cutting/copying/pasting, no start menu popping up when hitting escape and all), and it's happening across multiple PC's for me.

Once in a blue moon, my wireless keyboard will go bananas during a chat within Trillian 5. It acts if one of the Shift, Ctrl, or ALT key is being held down only with certain keys. Two things that I do will fix it. Unplug the keyboard for a bit. If that doesn't work, then reboot the computer. Try these two and see if that corrects it.

No wireless keyboard here, and it doesn't always happen. For instance, right now, it's not happening. (I reboot my PC every night)

Yes well it doesn't have to be a wireless keyboard. As sometimes it also happens on my wired keyboard too. I just think there is a greater chance of a stray bit from wireless. As it happens more often from wireless than wired. And does it work once you reboot?

Yeah, reboots and logoffs seem to resolve the issue (on a Windows PC.)
But the problem seems to eventually come back.

I routinely use about 6 computers here. And one of them I have seen this happen a number of times while in a chat. Since it happens here so infrequently, I haven't paid much attention to it. But I will now. It hasn't happened since I have been using the latest beta though. It doesn't mean much, since it does happen so rarely here anyway.

BillW50 are you using the locally installed client or the web client?
My issue seems to happen only on the Web Client.
I use the local client at home and have never seen this issue.

Oh I almost never use the web client. I am pretty sure my problems is with Trillian v5.1.0.21 and earlier so far. The latest beta it hasn't happened yet (v5.2 build 12 Pro).

Same issue here. It's pretty annoying when using the web interface for chat. Using Windows 7, x64, Google Chrome.

Happening here on all services. Using WEB CLIENT. Getting to be incredibly annoying.

For me it only happens on the Web Client on Chrome / Firefox in Ubuntu and Chrome / IE in Windows XP. When I first launch the client it will work fine for at least 10 minutes. After a bit of time working with other programs or browser windows, I will return to the Trillian web client and everytime I hit G it will buzz. Closing the web client and re-launching will fix the problem temporarily.

I'll add to this, that it seems to happen to me most in the Web Client. I never use buzzing normally, so if there's an option in the webclient to disable sending buzz's that might help, but I can't seem to find it.

I have had this problem too. I'm guessing most of you are using control+tab or some similar control macro. It seems when you navigate away from the trillian tab and you had control pressed the program does not release the "is control set" flag. I've gotten around this by just hitting control when I switch back to the trillian tab.
I could be totally wrong as I have never looked at the code, only observed this behavior in Chrome.

Jon, I don't use ctrl+tab to switch between tabs in browsers, so I don't know that that was the cause.
However, it has been quite some time since I've seen this issue pop up again. (of course after posting this it will probably happen today :))

I only use ALT-TAB to switch between applications and never scroll between tabs in the browser.

I actually do use both alt and control tab, but the ctrl G doesn't happen
while I'm executing those commands, or if it is I haven't noticed it. It
happens when I am typing messages to certain users on certain message
protocols, but not all the time.
