When a friend has the name display character with "<" in it, it causes wierd display issues with normal text and also on Windows, conversation history does not copy the full text, only partial text.

Please see my full thread with photo examples of this here:

    Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have passed this along to the proper person for review and if there are any questions we will be in touch.

    Thanks again!

When is this going to be fixed?

    Hi Nick,

The display issue is not likely going to get fixed, as there is a next generation product underway that shouldn't have the problem. The history issue will be reviewed - can you provide specifics on that, e.g. a reproducible test case?

Also, where is the other thread from January that nobody has replied to?

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Hello Andy,
The thread is here with pictures and all - http://forums.ceruleanstudios.com/showthread.php?t=105228
I don't know how exactly to reproduce it without spending money on another Trillian account and doing it to myself from one account to another on different computers. If you have the ability to, simply change your msn display name to the one that matches the one I have shown in the thread and see if someone else is unable to copy the History correctly. I still have the issue as well. Any time I go into the history with this person and highlight several lines of text, then try to paste it into a text file, only part of the text gets copied. It seems to cut off in the middle of the persons nickname somehow. So I have no way of just copying any of our history and saving it outside of Trillian.

I also forgot to mention, I get random messages in my gmail when this person messages me (sometimes its on the first message they send to me) and I don't know why, because I don't get it with anyone else.

    Hi Andy Magoon,

Did you ever look into the history issue? It's been about 8 months now, I'm sitting on the latest version and the problem is still there. Same thing with the character display from notifications.
